在今天，NBA球员工会举办了一年一度的球员评奖大赛，这是一个全部由NBA球员进行投票的大奖赛，与NBA官方所颁布的奖项评选规则完全不同。在NBA工会的投票中，只允许NBA球员进行投票，而拒绝各大美国体育媒体进行投票。
NBA官方的奖项则多数是由NBA各大媒体投票产生的，球员投票极少。在今天的投票中威斯布鲁克当选上赛季常规赛MVP，而最佳防守球员依然还是来自圣安东尼奥马刺队的科怀·伦纳德。

其中在最佳防守球员这个选项上面，毫无疑问依然是迎来了部分球员的争议，许多人认为这个奖项要给予德雷蒙德·格林或者爵士队的戈贝尔，因为这两位球员在2016-2017单赛季的防守效率值都进入了NBA联盟的历史前二十。

很多人都口口声声说现在的球员打球太软了，可是当他们看到格林的时候又会说他嘴巴太碎，动作太大。可是这就是你们要的强硬的球员啊，真是很矛盾的标准。从来不认为格林是一位坏人，他是说了很多话发表了很多意见，这只是直率的性格使然，比赛里他也不会有意去让谁受伤，场上的事情都留在场上解决。经历过去年的事，今年格林成熟了很多，现在的格林真的就是一位我会好好享受、欣赏他比赛的好球员。最后，虽然有点早，希望格林退役以后能加入TNT大嘴天团，看他和奥胖巴胖斗嘴一定其乐无穷。
当然作为伦纳德的球迷，能拿到最佳一阵和最佳防守一阵也是挺开心的，这是大家对这个攻防两端都有突出的认可！尽管在马刺队，注定不会数据那么超级突出。攻守兼备，注定两端都无法那么耀眼，这使得最佳防守和MVP都很难获得，就像你自己说的，我的眼里只有冠军，其他都无所谓！你用攻防两端的表现，表明了自己对胜利的渴望和竭尽所能，你就是我心目中永远的MVP！
